Holiday Lights XXXI!!

Thank you to all residents of West 55th who have donated so far to maintain our 31-year tradition of having lights in the trees to brighten the dark winter nights. As of Oct. 14, we have raised nearly $4,500 from 80 residents. Our goal is $20,000. We need about $12,000 to put up and take down the lights in half the trees on the block. The rest of the money will be used to pay for tree bed improvements, to plant flowers and for other projects that have been discussed at the general meetings. We are reaching out to co-ops and businesses in the neighbhorhood for donations as well.

Please make checks payable to THE WEST 55TH STREET BLOCK ASSOCIATION and send to Jack Herlihy (Treasurer), 340 West 55th Street, New York, NY 10019. Or checks may be left with the doorman at 340 W. 55th, attention Mr. Jack Herlihy.

(We are working on getting a Paypal account so that we can get online donations in the future. A few details with the 501(c)(3) status need to be worked out first.)
